Hemsedal Municipality (Norway) and Grundfos BioBooster sign
Letter of Intent for a BioBooster MBR plant

The Municipality of Hemsedal has long been interested in the BioBooster MBR technology for a smaller wastewater treatment plant located in Hemsedal, Norway. This particular municipal plant in Hemsedal requires process and performance improvements, which Grundfos BioBooster can handle.

Grundfos BioBooster and Hemsedal Municipality have consequently discussed the possibility of using the BioBooster MBR for this application. Both parties have now signed a Letter of Intent, securing close cooperation in the foreseeable future.

The Letter of Intent outlines the model of a “demonstration plant”, which will be operated and tested for a period of several months at a predefined location. The agreement states that once the results of the MBR operations have been demonstrated, the Municipality of Hemsedal will take over the plant.

During the autumn of 2010, the Municipality of Hemsedal and Grundfos BioBooster will work closely to evaluate the realisation of the demonstration plant and concrete decisions are expected to be made at the end of the year.
