Wastewater reuse and recycling

Apart from treating wastewater locally, the BioBooster plant can delivers high water quality which can then be reused for example for irrigation of recreational areas or service purposes. This is a sustainable solution especially in geographical arears where water is scarce.

Further market potential is within smaller communities where the current treatment plant has to be expanded with extra capacity. Similarly, smaller communities without existing wastewater infrastructure and which are located many kilometres away from a centralised plant can benefit from a BioBooster solution.

Some facts…

The BioBooster plant at Bjerregrav is dimensioned to treat a wastewater capacity of 1000 inhabitants (PE). The system is built in five 20 foot containers covering an area of 70 square meters. The solution is so flexible that the plant can be expanded to match population growth by adding additional containers. The plant is fully automated and remotely monitored.

The core technology is the BioBooster MBR (Membrane bioreactor). The membranes consist of ceramic discs with very small pores. The pores are so small that bacteria for example, E-coli cannot penetrate them. This ensures the high water quality.
